Cookies
Five things, none of them tracking you
You have been asked to accept cookies on every site you have visited this week. Here is why this one does not ask.
Last updated Oct 31, 2026.
The rules that make sites show a consent banner apply to storage that is not strictly necessary — chiefly the cookies that follow you between sites to build an advertising profile. This site sets none of those. It carries no analytics, no advertising network, no social-media pixel and no third-party script of any kind.
Everything below is needed for the site to work at all, which is the one category that does not require consent. Refusing it would mean not being able to sign in or submit a form, so a button offering you that choice would be pretending.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie wattgro_session |
Keeps you signed in as you move between pages, and remembers the currency you chose for plan prices. Without it every page would ask for your password again. | 120 minutes of inactivity, or until you sign out. |
| Security token XSRF-TOKEN |
Proves a form was submitted from this site and not from a page elsewhere pretending to be you. It is a defence, not a tracker. | The same as the session. |
| Stay signed in remember_web_59ba36addc2b2f9401580f014c7f58ea4e30989d |
Set only if you tick “Stay signed in” when you sign in, so you are not asked for your password every time you come back. Signing out removes it. | Up to 400 days, or until you sign out. |
| Notice dismissal stored in your browser, not a cookie |
Remembers that you have closed the notice at the bottom of the page, so it does not reappear. | Until you clear your browser storage. |
| Colour theme stored in your browser, not a cookie |
Remembers whether you chose the light, dark or system theme. | Until you clear your browser storage. |
If you block them anyway
The estimator will still work — it needs no account. Signing in will not, and neither will submitting the enquiry form, because the security token has nowhere to live. That is a limitation of the mechanism rather than a choice we made.
If this changes
If we ever add something that does need consent, you will be asked properly, with a real choice and a working refusal — not a banner where the only button is "accept". Until then there is nothing to decide.
